Live Yoga: A love story, family business, and the oldest yoga studio in White Rock
Live Yoga is the product of a beautiful love story. In 2012, owners Sean and Amy met at a Langley yoga studio. They briefly dated before each going on to complete their yoga teacher training, then reconnected and rekindled their romance while teaching at the very yoga studio where they met. Soon, Amy began teaching at Live Yoga, then led by the wonderful Marnie Hol. While managing the studio, Amy learned about the vision of welcoming, inclusive and safe yoga for everyone that made Live Yoga so magical. ✨
In June 2013, Amy pooled resources with Sean to purchase Live Yoga, making their dream of owning the studio a reality.
Owning a business together cemented their relationship. They realized they were in it (both the yoga studio and their relationship) for the long term. Late that summer, Sean proposed to Amy amidst a Crescent Beach sunset and they were married in August 2014. They ran the studio together until 2015 when Amy joined Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, applying her business acumen and interpersonal skills to a successful career in fundraising. While Amy does impactful work for our community, Sean continues to grow Live Yoga - voted best yoga studio in White Rock and South Surrey. Sean and Amy have since added three gorgeous girls (including a set of twins!) and their yoga pup, Ginger, to the Live Yoga family. Together, they work tirelessly to create a community-centred, friendly, and welcoming studio that prides itself on teaching thoughtful and healing yoga for everyone. Live Yoga isn’t just their passion project, it’s their love story - for yoga, and for one another. Each day, they’re grateful for their excellent instructors, inspiring students for begin a part of their love story and making Live Yoga a joyful, supportive, and loving place to practice.
